Mahmoud Halat writes and edits everything on Three Impact. He's based in Toronto, founded the web studio Space & Story, and runs cite-met, the hosting and analytics platform whose aggregated data powers our AI Search Observatory.

What he does

Mahmoud runs two studios. Space & Story builds websites for small businesses in the Greater Toronto Area, designed to be found on Google and in AI search. XYspace builds AI systems for regulated industries, mainly healthcare. He also runs the products that grew out of that work, including cite-met.

Before that he spent about a decade on healthcare data. He was the second employee at Verto Health, from 2018 to 2026, where he worked on integrating AI with hospital records and co-authored a patent, according to his personal site.

Why he writes this site

Space & Story builds small-business sites, and cite-met hosts them and records which crawlers read them. That means we can see, across many real sites, how often AI crawlers arrive and how rarely AI assistants send visitors back, which is the kind of measurement most advice about AI search is missing. Three Impact is where we publish it, along with the tools, reviews and guides that small businesses ask us for.
