Pick Peec AI if you want to start this week, see the price first, and track up to a few hundred prompts across several brands or clients. Pick Profound if you're an enterprise team that wants nine engines, agent analytics, ChatGPT Shopping and an AI that drafts the work, and you're comfortable buying through sales. For a single small business, neither is the obvious first buy; Otterly.AI at $29 is.

The differences that matter
Price you can see versus price you have to ask for
Peec publishes every self-serve tier in US dollars: $95, $245 and $495 a month for 50, 150 and 350 prompts. Profound's pricing page lists a free trial and "Custom". Profound used to sell self-serve plans; Peec's January 2026 comparison listed Profound Starter at $99 (ChatGPT only) and Growth at $399, but neither is on Profound's page now. If you need a number for a budget request today, only Peec can give you one.
What each does after it measures
This is the real product difference. Peec is a measurement tool that has added ranked "Actions" and an analysis agent; you still write the content. Profound has moved towards doing the work: its AI Marketer "identifies the work worth doing, drafts it, and pings you for approval", and its Agents produce content from templates. That's valuable if you have the volume to justify it. It's overkill if you'll publish two pages a month.
Agent analytics
Both now show which AI agents read your pages. Profound's Agent Analytics reads AI bot traffic at the CDN or server, is included for unlimited domains even on the trial, and Profound says it can tell real AI bots from spoofed ones. Peec's pricing page lists crawl insights (which bots hit which pages, how often, and the status code), a robots.txt crawlability audit and AI referral tracking on every plan, capped by a monthly bot-visit allowance. Neither page says enough to rank one above the other on accuracy; Profound's spoofing detection is the documented extra. Scrunch includes agent monitoring at $300 too.
Method
Peec documents its method: it scrapes the consumer interfaces to capture what a logged-out user sees, daily, and avoids APIs. Profound's public pages list engines and daily tracking but don't explain collection. Ask Profound directly; studies comparing app and API answers find large differences, and you want to know which one you're paying for.
Prompt demand data
Profound's Prompt Volumes draws on what it calls more than two billion prompts from double-opt-in consumer panels, broken down by intent and demographics. Peec offers a relative 1–5 prompt volume score, according to Profound's comparison. If you need to know which questions people actually ask AI, not just how you appear in answers, Profound has more here.
What each vendor says about the other
Both companies publish their own comparison: Profound's and Peec's (dated January 5, 2026). Read them as sales pages. Profound's says Peec was "not yet SOC 2 certified (in progress)"; Peec's current pricing page lists SOC 2 on every plan. Peec's lists Profound tiers that no longer appear on Profound's pricing page. Where they conflict with the vendors' own pricing pages, we've used the pricing pages.

Questions people ask
Is Peec AI cheaper than Profound?
Almost certainly, but Profound doesn't publish a price to compare against. Peec AI starts at $95 a month for 50 prompts. Profound's pricing page lists only a free 7-day trial and custom Enterprise pricing (checked November 2026).
Which tracks more AI engines, Profound or Peec AI?
On their top plans, about the same: Profound lists up to 9 engines on Enterprise and Peec up to 13. Below Enterprise, Peec lets you choose 3 from 6; Profound has no self-serve paid plan, and its trial covers 3.
Do Profound and Peec AI show AI crawler traffic?
Both do. Profound includes Agent Analytics for unlimited domains, even on its trial. Peec includes crawl insights, a robots.txt crawlability audit and AI referral tracking on every plan, with a monthly bot-visit allowance (4.5 million on Starter).
